Corporate Panel Discusses the Importance of Big Data Skills for Today’s Workforce

A panel of business leaders from Amazon.com, Dow Chemical, General Motors, IBM, and Procter & Gamble discussed the important role predictive analytics will play in future business decisions as part of the Emerging Power of Analytics Symposium sponsored by the Broad College of Business at Michigan State University.

Stefanie Lenway, Eli and Edythe L. Broad Dean of the Broad College, and Satish Udpa, dean of the College of Engineering, also addressed the audience, which included undergraduate and graduate students, MSU faculty, and others from the community. Held at the James B. Henry Center for Executive Development September 6, the symposium featured a presentation by IBM executives on the IBM Smarter Planet and Watson projects and case examples of how corporations are using data to guide decision making.
