Following the Deloitte competition, MSU’s Student Tax Team enjoyed time off to explore in Chicago

On Saturday, November 12, members of Michigan State University’s Student Tax Team won second place in the 2016 Deloitte FanTAXtic Competition in Chicago.

Edmund Outslay, professor of Accounting for the Broad College of Business, advised the team, which included Broad students Salvatore “Sam” Leone (BA Accounting ’17), Courtney March (MS Accounting ’17), Matthew Garcia (BA Accounting, ’19), Savannah Rizk (BA Accounting ’19), and ChaoJie “Victor” Zhang (BA Accounting ’17).

The Spartans competed against eight other teams, including University of Iowa, Loyola University of Chicago, University of Northern Colorado, University, and University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. They brought home $2,000 for the Broad College of Business, and $200 per team member.
