Electives
While core courses cover business overall, showing how different functions fit into a business and contribute to its success, concentration courses focus on a specialization, and electives let you round out your class work with areas of particular interest to you and your future career.
Our curriculum encourages you to customize a plan of study that addresses your interests and broadens the scope of your MBA experience.
The third component of our MBA Course curriculum allows you to take 15 elective credits that you may use to complement your concentration. The program has also mapped out suggested courses to assist those students who may be interested in pursuing opportunities in the following areas:
- Consulting
- Corporate Accounting
- Hospitality Business
- Information Technology Management
- International Business
- Leadership Change Management
- Strategic Management
You must take a minimum of 15 credits of elective courses beyond the core and concentration requirements. You may take some electives offered by other colleges within MSU as long as they are graduate level courses that are related to a future business career, and have been approved by an MBA advisor.
As part of the University's block tuition policy, Broad MBAs are able to take coursework above and beyond 58 credits required of the MBA degree under a "one price" structure, which includes electives of interest from other academic colleges.
