Suggestions for re-applicants

Test Scores

Please note GMAT scores are only valid for 5 years. Your GMAT results must be less than 5 years old at the time of application submission. TOEFL scores are only valid for 2 years. Your TOEFL results must be less than 2 years old at the time of application submission.

Essays

The admissions committee will review all essays; including the new required essay question. While not necessary, many re-applicants provide new, updated, and/or edited essays (Essays A & C) in an attempt to strengthen their application.

Letters of recommendations

The new, required letter of recommendation allows the admissions committee to obtain a current perspective on your background. You may submit two new letters if you desire. The admissions committee will consider all letters of recommendation submitted in its review of your new application (up to a total of four).

GMAT

If you applied with a GMAT score below our current median (640), then you may consider retaking the test to improve your score. The admissions committee uses your highest score in its assessment of your file. A score improvement may enhance the competitiveness of your application.

Experience

Your essays, recommendations, and resume should provide a current and clear picture of your background, skills, abilities, and accomplishments. The admissions committee expects that you have taken opportunities to enhance your background since your original application. Do not hesitate to replace original application material with fresh material that enhances your total application package to the Broad School.
