Career Gallery hosts employers from Michigan and beyond

MSU Career Gallery 2012 (124)
Broad College of Business students will have the opportunity to talk with more than 200 corporations from around the country at the annual Career Gallery career fair.

Michigan State University students will have an opportunity to meet with recruiters from some of Michigan’s—and the world’s—most prestigious companies on October 2 and 3 during the annual Career Gallery at the Breslin Center on the MSU campus.

Career Gallery, which is MSU’s largest career fair (and according to Breslin Center personnel—the largest event of its kind in the nation), is expected to have 3,000 students and more than 200 employers each of the two days. The career fair is open to all MSU majors.

Wednesday, October 2, is the Science, Engineering and Technology Exchange and Thursday, October 3, is the Business Exchange. The times for both days are 2 to 6 p.m.

Employers recruiting at the Career Gallery range from large corporations to local businesses. Companies scheduled to attend include General Mills, Ernst and Young, Deloitte, General Motors, Ford, Chrysler, Caterpillar, Boeing, ConAgra Foods, Whirlpool, General Electric, BP, Amazon, Herman Miller, Thomson Reuters, Bosch, Michigan Farm Bureau Family of Companies, and many more.

“We are extremely happy with the number of employers participating in this year’s events. It is the second year in a row that we have filled all the employer booths. It is an honor that so many companies and organizations choose MSU as one of their target schools,” said Geoff Humphrys, director of the Eli Broad College of Business Lear Career Center.

Several other employer, recruiting, and career development events and activities take place on campus earlier in the week. These events include a mixer with university deans and faculty and employers, presentations from companies, mock interviews, and a luncheon with employers. “These events create enthusiasm for Career Gallery and allow students to become fully engaged in the process,” adds Humphrys.
