Save the Date! — April 30, 2015, at the MSU Secchia Center — for the annual MSU Means Business 1.0 in Grand Rapids, Mich. An annual free event, presented by the West Michigan Spartans Alumni Club, MSU Means Business includes an afternoon panel discussion, presented by the Eli Broad College of Business, followed by an all-alumni reception and brief program.
The schedule begins at 4:30 pm with check in for the business workshop/panel discussion. This year panelists will discuss “Sustaining an Entrepreneurial Ecosystem in West Michigan.” Each of the panel experts is a practitioner in the entrepreneurial business space. They are: Sam Hogg (MBA Finance ’08), venture partner with Open Prairie Ventures and Huron River Ventures; Mike Morin (BA Marketing ’87, MBA Marketing ’93), director of Portfolio Relations, Start Garden; and Ken Szymusiak (BS Urban and Regional Planning ’05), director of the Broad College Institute for Entrepreneurship and Innovation.
The evening segment of the event opens at 5:45 pm when guests move to the Atrium of the Secchia Center to network while enjoying complimentary hors d’oeuvres and a cash bar. During the brief program which follows, alumnus Dan Behm (BA MLM-Purchasing ’83), president and co-founder of Open System Technologies, will be honored as the West Michigan MSU Business Person of the Year.
Sanjay Gupta, acting dean of the Eli Broad College of Business, will offer an MSU and Broad College update for the alumni audience.
