Data analyst. Data scientist. Big data. Market analyst. Contrary to popular belief, these aren’t buzzwords – they’re terms to describe one of the most viable career tracks in today’s job market.
On Thursday, September 15, the Broad College of Business MS in Business Analytics and MS in Marketing Research programs will host their annual “Fall Analytics and Insights Career Exploration” event to introduce students to the growing field of data analysis and consumer insights – as well as companies searching for talent in this innovative and fast-paced field.
The event is open to all Michigan State students, and over 50 companies will attend, including Abbvie, BP, the Detroit Tigers, Domino’s, Lear Corporation, Quicken Loans, the Wendy’s Company, and many more. It takes place from 12:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. at Spartan Stadium’s Huntington Club.
In addition to the fair, there will be two separate panel discussions. The first will focus on business analytics, the second will take a deep dive into marketing research. During these talks, top professionals in both fields will discuss how big data and research is changing the way they do business and the mounting need for professionals in their field.
A full list of employers can be found on the event’s Handshake page.
