2017 Investiture Ceremony to Honor New Faculty Appointments

On September 22, the Broad College of Business will again demonstrate its commitment to investing in world-class faculty as it honors six new endowed faculty professors and fellows.

The new faculty appointments bring the college’s roster of endowments to 38 – the most of any college at Michigan State University.

  • STANLEY GRIFFIS – John H. McConnell Professor of Business Administration
  • CHRIS HOGANRussell E. Palmer Endowed Professor in Accounting
  • JOHN JIANG – Plante Moran Faculty Fellowship in Accounting
  • SRIRAM NARAYANAN – Kesseler Family Endowed Faculty Fellowship in Supply Chain Management
  • CHERI SPEIER-PERO – Ernst & Young Professor in Accounting and Information Systems
  • SHAWNEE VICKERY – Demmer Endowed Professorship in Business

“I am very pleased that we are able to recognize these colleagues’ professional accomplishments, leadership and contributions to the Broad College through these professorships and fellowships,” said Sanjay Gupta, the Edythe and Eli L. Broad Dean of the Broad College.

Michigan State University will also honor the endowed professors and faculty at a university-wide investiture ceremony; of the 21 university faculty honorees across MSU’s 21 colleges, four belong to the Broad College.

“By investing in world-class faculty, we are advancing the Broad College mission: educating the next business leaders of the world, who will l solve complex business issues and make an extraordinary impact for a better world,” Gupta said.

The newly appointed faculty positions accompany additional hiring benchmarks at the Broad College, which includes 12 new faculty for the 2017-2018 academic year.
