In addition to the dinner itself, the April 17 event consisted of networking, updates on the Broad College as a whole, and testimonies from fellow Spartans on their support for the Broad College and the path it is paving for the future business leaders of tomorrow.

With the new Broad College Business Pavilion being erected, along with additional changes being made to the college (including new programs being added to the major), the dinner was a chance to bring West Coast Spartan business leaders up to speed as well as to connect fellow Spartans in California.

In his presentation, Gupta discussed strategic initiatives for the Broad College, which included:

  • Transforming lives through education
  • Strengthening impactful research
  • Enhancing intercollegiate collaboration
  • Creating an inspiring teaching and learning environment
  • Encouraging a culture of high performance
  • Expanding outreach and engagement

Thull, the host, was honored with the Outstanding Alumni Achievement Award in 2008-09.
