Coming Soon: Spartans Will. Empower

Tuesday, November 29, in conjunction with Giving Tuesday – a global day of giving directly after the retail-focused Black Friday and Cyber Monday – MSU will hold its third annual university-wide day of giving. “Spartans Will. Thirty MSU funding causes will be highlighted, based on the difference they make to the lives of current and future students – including the new Broad College Pavilion. Spartan supporters worldwide will be invited through social media and on-campus events to support and/or engage in challenges to help spread the word about the day of giving. Follow @MSUBroadCollege or check Broad’s LinkedIn pages for more details throughout the month.

To Prescribe, or Not to Prescribe?

A new Broad-led study raises potential issues about life-enhancing prescriptions, including access, overuse, and cost. The research finds that a doctor is more likely to prescribe growth hormones to a child who does not meet federal guidelines for the treatment if the child’s family makes a request or if the physician believes the treatment will provide intangible benefits, such as to the patient’s emotional well-being.
