DESCRIPTION:Innovate State is a collaboration between the Burgess Institute for Entrepreneurship & Innovation and the MSU Innovation Center. \nHosted in the Gaynor Entrepreneurship Lab\, Innovate State welcomes successful Spartan alumni back to campus for a fireside chat. Guests share their perspectives on everything from launching start-ups to experiencing success and failure to building dynamic and nurturing work cultures. \n \n  \nAbout The Speaker\nAs the CEO / Co-founder of Patchwerk Recording Studios\, Curtis Daniel III is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the multi-million-dollar facility. One such venture\, “The Werkstation\,” which is a recording station in the middle of The Mall of Georgia\, was launched in February of 2014. While under his watch\, Patchwerk has been the home to more than a dozen Grammy-nominated audio engineers\, as well as over 100 gold and platinum plaques. Patchwerk has also been the creative & driving force behind several educational programs and music events\, such as Music University\, Weekend Workshops\, I Do Music\, and R&B Live. \nCurtis received his undergraduate degree from Michigan State University. He is the majority owner of 5ten15twenty (a group fundraiser site for well-known artists & producers)\, sole owner of The Talent Incubators\, and a minority owner of Atlanta’s Streetz 94.5 FM radio station. \n  \nAbout Innovate State\nEvery year\, Innovate State invites Spartan entrepreneurs\, innovators\, and disruptors to join our community for a fireside chat. In these 60-minute interviews\, guests share their perspectives on everything from business to family life; the hard knocks of the hustle to maintaining work/life balance. These are stories of success\, stories of failure\, and stories of uncommon will. \nInnovate State is proudly brought to you by the Burgess Institute for Entrepreneurship & Innovation in collaboration with the MSU Alumni Office\, MSU Innovation Center\, & MSU Foundation.
