Classjoy empowers everyday teacher heroes with a super simple yet rewarding & engaging place to safely capture & share daily school highlights with parents – elevating family engagement\, student wellness\, and teacher appreciation. Ultimately disrupting how millennial parents commemorate their child’s year and transfer the billions of dollars spent on yearbooks & school pictures back into teachers’ hands. \nPrior to Classjoy\, Simon was the Co-Founder of Yuday – an EdTech startup focused on classroom communication. Before entrepreneurship\, he worked in private equity at Star Avenue Capital where he invested in growth-stage consumer & retail companies. He began his career in the consumer & retail investment banking coverage group at Deutsche Bank. His passion for education & social impact was ignited after quitting finance to volunteer in Africa where he taught in South Africa\, did wildlife conservation in Zimbabwe\, and marine conservation in Madagascar. \nSimon graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Finance from Michigan State University and was a Financial Markets Institute Scholar.

There will be an opportunity prior to the event for you to choose which venture idea or project you like the most\, & decide which teams you would like to join! \n2 DAY VENTURE is designed for Spartans to create & build a new venture with a team\, not by yourself. \n\n\nEligibility / Rules\n\nTo participate in 2DAY VENTURE\, you must be a currently enrolled student at Michigan State University.\nTo participate\, you must be able to attend a large portion\, if not all\, of the 2DAY VENTURE weekend—your team is depending on you.\n\nIf you have a scheduling conflict\, please contact Caitlyn Johnson\, john7362@msu.edu.\n\n\nAs a participant in 2DAY VENTURE\, you will respond to all emails by the required reply-by date & understand that you may not be placed onto the team in which you voted on in the week prior to the event.\nIf you attend & participate in 2DAY VENTURE\, you understand that your images may be used\, but not limited to marketing materials & social media campaigns.\nIf the idea or project won a financial award at a prior 2DAY VENTURE event\, you are not eligible to compete in this 2DV.\n\n\nIf you participate in 2DAY VENTURE\, you understand that pitches are live & open to the public.\nIf you are selected to receive a financial award\, you understand that your team must enroll in the Burgess Institute for Entrepreneurship & Innovation’s Discovery Program to receive your award.
