DESCRIPTION:The School of Hospitality Business invites you to join us for a Virtual Career Expo-Spring Edition on Tuesday\, March 23\, 2021 on Handshake! We are excited to connect you  because many hospitality employers are reengaging with us after suffering a difficult time during COVID-19. \nDescription/Time: Company Information Sessions will be held from 1:00 pm to 3:30 pm.  After a 30 minute break\, companies will host one on one session with students from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm. \nDirections: After registering for CAREER EXPO-SPRING EDITION on Handshake\, you will be given the opportunity to sign up for 30-minute informational group sessions with specific companies AND 10-minute individual sessions with a company recruiter. You can sign up for both before CAREER EXPO or after EXPO starts\, up until one minute prior to the open time slot. The 30-minute group sessions will allow you to research and learn more about a specific company and their culture to see if you are a good fit. They will also answer any general questions about the company and the position they have to offer. The 10-minute sessions give you the opportunity to engage with recruiters in a more personal setting. These sessions are designed as networking opportunities for students\, short interviews   or as a prescreen for a more formal interview that the employer will conduct with you after the career fair is over. Individual employers will list on Handshake their hiring needs. If they are hiring\, please make sure you meet the requirements of the company before you sign up for a 10 minute one on one session. If they are not hiring\, then any student can select a one on one meeting. One on one time slots are limited\, and we want to make sure those who are eligible have an opportunity first\, however if no one signs up\, then feel free to sign up for the open time slot. \nEmployers will see you on the video platform on Handshake so professional dress is REQUIRED. DESCRIPTION:Entry Form Now Available \nCompetition\nThe 42nd Annual Michigan Wine Competition is now accepting entries. The competition and judging will take place on Tuesday\, July 30 and the Gold Medal Reception celebrating winners will be held on Thursday\, August 8 at the Kellogg Hotel & Conference Center. \nThis year the wine competition and reception is a jointly planned and executed venture with Michigan Department of Agriculture & Rural Development (MDARD)\, Michigan Wine Collaborative (MWC)\, Kellogg Hotel & Conference Center; and The School of Hospitality Business at Michigan State University. \nEntry forms are now available\, $55 per wine. Two ways to submit entry form and payment: \n\nMail. If you received an entry form by mail – please complete the entry form\, scan\, and email the completed form to: gramlic3@msu.edu.\nOnline. Visit the online entry form link. A follow up email will be sent to you with a copy of your completed entry form and payment instructions.\n\nEntry forms are due by Friday\, July 5\, 2019. Besides expanding your network\, building relationships and meeting new clients\, business golf allows you to form more personal connections and learn about an associate’s true character. Learn how business golf should be a part of your professional toolbox and how getting out of the office and onto the course can advance your career. This interactive session includes an overview of how to use golf in business and hands-on practice with putting\, chipping\, and full swing instruction. \n\nPlease dress for the weather in casual/golf attire. Wear golf or athletic shoes. Bring your own clubs\, if desired. DESCRIPTION:The premier annual event in The School of Hospitality Business is Les Gourmets. Founded as a student organization in 1951\, students in Les Gourmets produced their first dinner in 1955. Starting as a simple buffet and dinner dance\, the event has since evolved into a formal world-class reception and dinner showcasing the talents of hundreds of student volunteers and all they have learned from their professors and work experiences.
