It’s that special time of year.

That time when people around the world spend a little more time appreciating the people and things in life that matter, and when we all put a little more effort into giving back. For some, this is volunteering time to help others. For others, this means taking part in the Giving Tuesday, a global day of giving, on November 29 – and Spartans around the world have a chance to make an impact.

Beginning at 12:00 a.m. EST, Michigan State University will hold its third annual, university-wide day of giving, “Spartans Will. Empower,” in conjunction with the Giving Tuesday. With 30 dedicated causes to contribute to, MSU has set its goal to raise $100,000 in 24 hours. The University identified these causes by their potential impact on current and future MSU students.

The Broad College of Business is one of these impactful causes, and will be raising donations for its Business Pavilion. The state-of-the-art learning facility is set to break ground in 2017, and will immeasurably shape the way Spartans learn, innovate, grow, and make an impact of their own.

“My hope for the next generation of Broad scholars is to have a place to learn, and that reflects what draws us all to Broad in the first place: a sense of community and a place where we can be challenged and thrive,” said Broad Student Senate President Kari Jurewicz (BA Accounting, 17)

The pavilion facility will be home to undergraduate and graduate students, and will include impressive features to enhance the learning experience, connect students with resources they need, and attract future students to begin their own Broad journey.

“This is the most important project the Broad College has undertaken in the last 50 years. By contributing, you are forever impacting the education of the students who will come through the college, and setting in brick and mortar the legacy of the Broad College for generations to come,” Sanjay Gupta, the Eli and Edythe L. Broad Dean.
