Angie Perkins (BA Finance ’14) was selected as one of only two fall 2014 student commencement speakers. She spoke at the undergraduate ceremony held Saturday, December 13, at 10 a.m.
Since arriving on campus, Perkins was an active part of the Multicultural Business Program (MBP). She began as a participant in the Summer Business Institute and continued her affiliation with the program through use of their tutorial services, participation in their student organizations, and her work as a department aide during her last two years.
“My involvement in MBP has allowed me to grow as a leader,” Perkins said. “I have learned that I don’t always have to lead. Sometimes leading means letting someone else step up to the plate.”
Now that she has graduated, Perkins will be working full time at PNC Financial Services Group as a treasury analyst.
