The pavilion was made possible, in part, through a $30 million gift from alumnus and real estate developer Edward J. Minskoff. The gift, which was the largest single gift received from an individual at the time, ensured that the entire project was funded exclusively by philanthropy.

In the five years since its opening, the Minskoff Pavilion has had an incredible impact on Broad students, faculty, staff, and the entire Michigan State University community.
For students, the Minskoff Pavilion offers a unique opportunity for collaboration and community, through the state-of-the-art technology, an abundance of meeting spaces, and the welcoming design of the pavilion itself.
“The study rooms are a really unique offering that we have here…It can be just a quiet space where you can actually study with your friends. It creates that extra area that isn’t always available in other buildings on campus” – Colleen Andrews, Supply Chain Management.
“I think that this facility overall just encourages collaboration at all levels” – Victor Blocker, PH.D. candidate, Department of Management.
In working to enhance the student experience, Broad staff manages the multitude of spaces within the Minskoff Pavilion, providing resources and support to students outside of the standard curriculum.
There’s an energy in the Minskoff Pavilion that says come be a part of something. Come be a part of your program in a way that’s bigger than just going to class”. -Wayne Hutchinson, Managing Director, Full-Time & STEM MBA Programs
“My favorite space has to be the interview suites. Getting a job itself, it’s difficult. So having the facility that can support them to be successful during the interview process, modern and comfortable space, both for students and employers, can really enhance the whole experience”. -Shintawati, Senior Associate Director, Global Career Initiatives, Russell Palmer Career Management Center.
For Broad Faculty, Minskoff Pavilion offers the space, technology, and atmosphere required to give students the best possible learning environment.
“I love that I can teach students in different ways each day. Students can really make the space their own, whether they’re meeting in a small group or having a student org meeting. It’s really easy for them to use the space in different ways and I appreciate being able to teach in different ways on different days as well”. -Laurel Ofstein, Faculty Director, Burgess Institute of Entrepreneurship and Innovation.
“We really want a facility to back up the brand and really help the students and try to have the best possible teaching experience for them. Teaching in the tiered classrooms, from a room configuration, it really does create a more inviting experience”. – Steve Schiestel, Frederick S. Addy Professor of Practice, Department of Finance.
The Minskoff Pavilion has become an integral part of not just Broad, but MSU’s campus experience in the five years since opening. It will continue to add to the legacy of excellence at Broad for years to come.
“As we reflect on the incredible impact this facility has had—not just on our students, faculty, and staff but on the entire Michigan State University community—we are reminded that the Minskoff Pavilion has become more than just a building. It has grown into a vibrant hub for learning, growth, and the kind of forward-thinking that defines our mission here at Broad”. – David Souder, The Eli and Edythe L. Broad Dean
