FMI scholar Simrit Jhita and teammate Ryan Fernandes took first-place honors in the Broad College’s financial literacy competition held among freshman members of the Broad Residential Program on March 22, 2016. The title of the competition was “The Potential Benefits and Pitfalls Facing College Students in Using Credit Cards.” The eleven teams entering the competition submitted executive summaries on the topic; the top six teams presented to judges Ms. April Clobes, President of the MSU Federal Credit Union, and Dr. Sanjay Gupta, Dean of the Broad College of Business. The competition was made possible by a Dean’s Choice Award of $2,500 from the credit union.
