A Michigan State University Eli Broad College of Business professor has earned an international marketing award.
Roger Calantone, Eli Broad Chaired University Professor of Business in the Department of Marketing, is the recipient of the 2015 Hans B. Thorelli Award. The award recognizes an article Calantone co-authored, “An Examination of Exploration and Exploitation Capabilities: Implications for Product Innovation and Market Performance,” as the paper that “has made the most significant and long-term contribution to international marketing theory or practice” of all those published in the Journal of International Marketing in 2007. The article was authored with Goksel Yalcinkaya (PhD Marketing ’07) of the University of New Hampshire and David A. Griffith of Lehigh University.
The study investigated the relationships marketing and technological resources have with importers’ exploitation and exploration capabilities, product innovation, and market performance.
The award will be presented during the 2015 American Marketing Association’s Summer Marketing Educators’ Conference.
