This summer has been nothing short of transformative and filled with moments that challenged me, inspired me, and confirmed that I’m exactly where I’m meant to be as I begin my MBA journey at Michigan State University!

Professional Preparation

I had the incredible opportunity to serve as a Venture Creation Intern at the Burgess Institute for Entrepreneurship & Innovation at MSU. My focus was on reimagining aspects of the Venture Creation Program—introducing innovative tools and resources to help student founders navigate their business plans more effectively. From streamlining operational processes to designing strategic supports, this role deepened my appreciation for what it takes to build a scalable and sustainable entrepreneurial ecosystem on campus.

I also represented the Burgess Institute at MSU Green and White Days, sharing the entrepreneurial spirit of MSU with prospective students and families. One unforgettable moment was competing in a Shark Tank-style pitch competition, where I honed my ability to think quickly, communicate clearly, and lead with confidence.

Career Development

As a Forté Fellow, I attended the Forté Foundation’s Pre-MBA Women’s Leadership Conference in Denver. I connected with inspiring women leaders, explored diverse career paths, and participated in workshops that left a lasting impact—especially The Power of Negotiation, which gave me tools I’ll carry into every future role.

While in Denver, I also had the privilege of meeting two incredible MSU alumni. They generously offered advice on software development for Memory Sketch (the venture I co-founded) and shared powerful career insights, especially the importance of identifying your non-negotiables and speaking up when it matters most.

Clinical & Industry Exposure

I was honored to shadow the Nuclear Radiology Department at the Mayo Clinic, observing their PhD-level PET research and learning about their distinctive “Mayo Way,” which is a culture defined by excellence, collaboration, and purpose-driven care. My conversations with the team gave me a meaningful glimpse into how organizational values shape innovation, decision-making, and patient outcomes. It’s a community I deeply admire—and one I hope to join someday.

Entrepreneurial Milestones

Representing both Memory Sketch and the Burgess Institute at the University Pitch Madness Competition at DePaul University in Chicago was a standout moment. Competing alongside student founders from top universities challenged me to sharpen my storytelling and strategic thinking in a high-stakes environment. I’m incredibly grateful for the experience and can’t wait to compete again with my amazing team!

Community & Wellness Leadership

This summer, I joined Genesys Health Club in Grand Blanc as a group fitness instructor—teaching spin, subbing for bootcamp and HIIT classes, and staying grounded both mentally and physically. I also served on the hiring committee for the Health & Wellness Coordinator position at MSU, contributing to the future of student wellness and preparing for the transition to our new facility next spring.

Countdown to Orientation

After months of preparation, I’ve officially wrapped up all my MBA prework, and I couldn’t be more excited for what’s ahead. I’m ready to dive in academically, professionally, and through extracurriculars. I’m especially eager to join the MSU MBA Entrepreneurship Association and hopefully study abroad during spring break!

During all this, I’ve also carved out time to recharge with friends and family, reminding myself to stay rooted in what matters most.

With Gratitude

I’m deeply thankful to those who’ve shaped this journey—from mentors who challenged me to grow, to teammates who made building Memory Sketch a joy, and to loved ones whose support kept me grounded. I couldn’t have done this without any of them.

I am excited to step into this next chapter with purpose, gratitude, and momentum. Go Green!
