Evan Raubacher, a Junior Supply Chain Management major was recently named one of six winners of the prestigious R. Gene Richter Scholarship. Each year the award is given out to a number of students from across the country that are pursuing a career in supply chain management. Not only do the students receive a scholarship, they also are paired with a Junior Mentor who is a recent Richter Scholar college graduate, an Executive Mentor, and also attend Institute for Supply Management 2016 Annual Conference in Indianapolis, May 15-18.
Evan had this to say about receiving the scholarship, “This scholarship is such an incredible honor to receive. I realized very quickly that the significance of the R. Gene Richter Scholarship reaches far beyond the monetary value. As a member of the Richter Family, I am sure to make lifelong colleagues, obtain new and exciting experiences and continuously improve my knowledge of supply chain management for years to come”
This year’s winners came from Arizona State University, Grand Valley State University, Michigan State University, Pennsylvania State University, University of Minnesota and Western Michigan University. The scholarship began in 2004 and has over 90 winners. The scholarship was established and named in memory of R. Gene Richter, a pioneer in modern purchasing and supply management. The R.
