Srinivas Talluri, professor of Supply Chain Management, recently received the Outstanding Service Award from the Production and Operations Management Society (POMS) for his contributions as a society board member and associate executive director from 2006-2008. The award was presented at the 20th Annual POMS Conference in Orlando.
During his service to POMS, Talluri was involved in a variety of activities including management of POM Journal subscriptions and promotion, involvement in POMS society vision and direction, and service as associate editor for POMS Chronicle and as the Purchasing and Sourcing Management track chair for the 16th and 18th Annual POMS Conferences.
His research interests include purchasing and supply chain management with emphasis on supplier evaluation and rationalization, buyer-seller negotiation models, and optimal supply network design; technology evaluation and justification with emphasis on advanced manufacturing and information technologies; and multi-factor models for performance evaluation and process improvement in manufacturing and service industries.
Talluri currently serves as an editorial board member for Production and Operations Management Journal, department editor for IEEE Transactions on Engineering Management and associate editor for Decision Sciences Journal. He received his PhD in production and operations management from the University of Texas at Arlington.
