The Broad Weekend MBA program is proud to announce that current student Terry Walsh has been named the new president and CEO of Catholic Charities West Michigan. Terry is currently in his second year of the program at the Lansing campus.
According to the press release, Terry will be responsible for the strategic direction of the organization, which provides programs focused on four primary areas: family preservation, child welfare, behavioral health and counseling and community outreach. The organization offers a continuum of social services, from prevention and early intervention to stabilization initiatives designed around the goal of keeping families together whenever possible.
“The Weekend MBA program at Michigan State University positioned me with the theoretical knowledge, framework, and language of business in order to prepare me to realize my longtime goal of becoming a president/CEO of a nonprofit organization,” said Terry. “Furthermore, the networking and exposure to a diversity of students allowed me to best leverage my skills, passion, and experience to manifest my dream job. As someone with a master’s in Social Work, I was at first hesitant to make the investment to engage in a second master’s in a different field; however, I am now sure that I made the right decision and I am a proud lifelong Spartan.”
