groupDr. Lu Zhang, assistant professor in The School of Hospitality Business attended the Thought Leadership HTR-Forum titled “Evolving Service Thinking: Disruption and Opportunity in Hospitality and Tourism” held at The Ohio State University in Columbus, Ohio in earlier this month.

The forum was co-hosted by the Journal of Service Management, Fordham University, Temple University, and Cornell University. The aim of this forum was to bring together prominent researchers in the Hospitality, Tourism and Service disciplines in a collaborative effort to advance and to set an agenda for research priorities.

Scholars from 10 countries across the globe participated in the forum. Researchers were assigned to nine different tracks, with each track addressing a nascent research focus (e.g., social innovation, service innovation, and sharing economy). All tracks will result in papers that will be published (subject to peer review) in a special issue of the Journal of Service Management in 2019.

The forum provided a unique opportunity for researchers to connect, generate ideas, collaborate, and to advance research.
