The Broad College MBA programs had a very productive and successful first “Appreciation Event” at Whirlpool on February 22 in Benton Harbor. More than 30 alumni and current students attended the event. Incoming Weekend MBA students who work at Whirlpool also came to connect.
Reagan Craven (MBA ’07), the Senior HR Manager and University Relations for Whirlpool, was the key person within the company who helped spread the word internally. Her husband is currently enrolled in the Weekend MBA program. She and others repeatedly mentioned how grateful they were to have the Broad College come to Benton Harbor to reconnect with them and provide them an opportunity to network with each other. She also said that MSU was the only school they have ever received a call from to do something like this and they would love to find a way to reconnect with us on a continuing basis. This event has provided us a model to replicate with our other key corporate partners, and we discussed that during our debrief sessions after the event.
