Michigan State University Broad College of Business Full-Time MBA Class of 2016 students leveraged opportunities to interact with global companies and enjoy activities during a European study abroad in May. Here, they share what they picked up along the way.

The village of Riquewihr in the Alsace region of France is ranked as one of the most beautiful villages in France and is also home to the Dopff & Irion Winery.

The winery uses grapes local to the area to create some of the most sought-after wines in the world. The winery has maintained its traditional wine-making values, and only uses the four noble grapes in its wine production.

Dopff & Irion taught us how to taste wine and what to look for in a wine. We learned what the nose of a wine was, and how to check the quality of the wine. Our Dopff & Irion tutor proudly explained to us his distillation process, and why each wine tasted the way it did.
