Lynne Zelenski, director of Academic Services for the department of Accounting and Information Systems, recently received a Michigan State University 2008-09 Distinguished Academic Staff Award at the annual MSU Awards Convocation.
Zelenski has a long history of service to the University. She has been employed at MSU for almost 25 years in several positions. Throughout her career, two things have remained constant – her commitment to students and their education and her commitment to the University and its success.
She currently assists in the administration of the Accounting and Information Systems department, coordinates departmental programs, works with external constituencies, and teaches the accounting careers course.
“Lynne’s dedication, innovative ideas, initiative and organizational skills have significantly contributed to the efficient operation of the department and its very positive perception within the Broad School, the University and with external constituents,” says Sanjay Gupta, the Accounting and Information Systems chair and the Russell E. Palmer Endowed Professor in Accounting.
She has also made numerous contributions to the MSU community. While serving on the Academic Specialist Advisory Committee from 2000-2005, which she chaired from 2003-2005, she helped improve the Academic Specialist representation at the highest levels of the University.
