  • Biography
    Dr. Han Zhang is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Supply Chain Management at the Eli Broad College of Business. He holds a Ph.D. in operations management, an M.Bus. in operations management, an M.A. in mathematics, and an M.A. in economics from Indiana University Bloomington. He also holds a B.B.A. in Applied Economics from Hong Kong Baptist University. Dr. Zhang studies how the structure of supply networks affects social responsibility decisions, for example, how a company can optimize its audits and remedial actions on suppliers in a network.

    Dr. Zhang welcomes applications from prospective Ph.D. students with strong training in mathematics. In particular, applicants are expected to have completed at least one semester each of linear algebra and multivariate calculus. Strong candidates will have also completed coursework in real analysis and differential equations. Additional preparation in game theory, nonlinear programming, and dynamic programming is highly valued.
