The Broad Academic Success Experience (BASE) is a pilot initiative that seeks to increase the participation of first-year students in the Residential Business Community (RBC) from diverse geographic areas, specifically under-served school districts. Students admitted to BASE will experience all the benefits of being part of the RBCommunity, as well as formal admission to the Broad College, once the BASE criteria are fulfilled.
Eligible students will be reviewed based on their MSU and RBC admissions applications (including ACT/SAT scores and high school GPA).
Acceptance to the BASE program is competitive.
Students from the state of Michigan must be from:
Preference is given to Pell Grant-eligible students
Preference is given to students who apply by by April 22, 2019, although applications will be accepted until 50 students are admitted.
If selected, students must commit to being part of RBC, including living in McDonel Residence Hall.
Requirements to maintain Broad College admission will be confirmed at the conclusion of the third semester* at MSU (not including summer enrollment). Students must:
