SocioMobility: The Social Side of Mobility

This workshop will focus on the social side of mobility. History shows that revolutionary change in transportation systems can have far reaching social, economic, legal and ethical implications. The changes we are beginning to see are not just technical, they are social. To capture, this we have coined the term SocioMobility.

Consistent with MSU’s heritage as the premier Land Grant University, we plan to approach this topic through a process of community engagement. We understand community in a broad way, including participants from industry (e.g., auto companies) as well as local/regional groups that are interested in the future of mobility. Through community engagement, we can identify research questions and projects that are most closely aligned with community interests.

This workshop is sponsored by the MSU Center for Business and Social Analytics, in cooperation with the Institute of Public Policy and Social Research and the School of Planning, Design and Construction.
