The Hatching, hosted by LEAP (Lansing Economic Area Partnership), is a Pitch Competition open to entrepreneurs who reside in Clinton, Eaton, Ingham and Shiawassee counties. The Hatching is part of a community-wide effort to support local entrepreneurs and make the Lansing region a great place to start a business. This event helps move new business ideas from concept to reality, and provides winners with funding, legal support, market research and more.

LEAP invites all startups working on a product or service with a potential for positive local or global impact on physical, economic and social challenges to apply. Each winner will receive $2,000 and will get the opportunity to connect to a network of local resource providers and individuals dedicated to helping aspiring entrepreneurs succeed.
