The Broad College Broad Champions Program selects a group of outstanding students who represent the seven business majors at the Eli Broad College of Business at events and speaking engagements across the U.S. The program, launching in the Fall of 2023, offers an opportunity for students to engage with alumni, donors, and stakeholders providing insights into student experiences and assisting in building lasting and meaningful relationships with Broad.
The Broad College Broad Champions Program selects a group of outstanding students who represent the seven business majors at the Eli Broad College of Business at events and speaking engagements across the U.S. The program, launching in the Fall of 2023, offers an opportunity for students to engage with alumni, donors, and stakeholders providing insights into student experiences and assisting in building lasting and meaningful relationships with Broad.
The Broad College will coordinate and cover in and out-of-state travel costs for Broad Champions. On-campus travel will be covered by the Broad Champion. In addition, Broad Champions receive a $500 scholarship each semester ($1,000/school year) in recognition of their involvement with this program.

Broad Champions must be enrolled full-time (12 or more credits/semester) in a major in the Eli Broad College of Business
Broad Champions must have completed at least one semester as a Broad admitted student before applying.
Broad Champions are named for a 9-month term from August through the following April. The Champion team will work varying hours depending on the time of year. Based on MSU event schedules, the fall semester will generally be the busiest. Broad Champions will participate in the following:
As representatives of Broad College and Michigan State University, Broad Champions are expected to abide by the terms outlined in this description as well as general university rules and regulations governing student conduct and discipline outlined in the Spartan Life Student Handbook.
The Broad Champion scholarship may affect a student’s financial aid. Before accepting their appointment as a Broad Champion, students should contact the MSU Office of Financial Aid at 517-353-5940 or finaid@msu.edu to determine this, as Broad College is not responsible for determining how this scholarship will affect each student’s financial aid.
Interested candidates should complete the online application by the May 15th deadline. All completed applications will be forwarded to a Selection Committee comprised of Broad College faculty, staff, and alumni. The Selection Committee will review applications and select candidates for interviews based on their academic standing, Faculty Recommendation, and Student Club and Organization involvement. Interviews with selected candidates will be conducted via telephone the end of May and, based on scheduling availability, candidates may be asked to participate in more than one interview. Candidates will be informed of their interview selection via email, so candidates must be responsive to email in this process.
Ten Broad Champions will be selected based on their qualifications and ensure a diversity of majors. Applicants selected as 2023-24 Broad Champions will be notified by email the beginning of June. Applicants who are not selected will be notified by email by mid-June.
