Please join us for Venture Capital, Private Equity, and Entrepreneurial Finance’s Speaker Series: “How do Venture Capitalists invest and raise funds?” with Kelly Ford (General Partner, Edison Partners); Vince Nystrom, (Principal, Renaissance Venture Fund), and Ryan Rathman (Senior Portfolio Manager, State of MI Retirement System).

The panelist will discuss how Venture Capital funds select early-stage and later-stage companies for investment, how they decide on the deal structure and valuation, how they grow their companies, and how Venture Capital funds exit their investments. The panel will explain how Venture Capital funds raise funds from institutions such as university endowments, foundations, pension funds and how institutional investors invest in Venture Capital funds directly, and via advisors like fund of funds. Finally, the panelist will discuss the impact of COVID-19 on Venture Capital funds and Venture Capital-backed firms.
