Foster a culture and climate of belonging and success: Build a community grounded in mutual respect where everyone feels valued, supported to do their best work, and able to advance.
To measure our progress towards this vision, the Broad College has committed to a bi-annual fall survey of all students, faculty and staff.
In 2024, 86.6% of students reported satisfaction with the college’s climate, up from 73.3% in 2022, representing an overall significant improvement of 13.3%. In 2024, 70.7% of employees reported satisfaction with the college’s climate, up from 61.9% in 2022, representing an overall improvement of 8.8%.
We’re pleased to share the results of our second bi-annual Broad Climate Survey, which provided valuable insights into both our strengths and areas for improvement. Over 1,000 students, faculty, and staff participated, offering feedback that will guide our ongoing efforts to foster a diverse and vibrant campus community.
Since our last survey in 2022, we have seen notable improvements in our faculty and staff’s employee satisfaction, sense of belonging and the perception of the college as a place where everyone can achieve their full potential.
While this progress is encouraging, there is still work ahead. We remain committed to working with our Broad 2030 Climate and Culture Working Group to further strengthen our community, ensuring that everyone feels valued, supported, and empowered to reach their professional goals.
In Fall 2022, more than 800 Broad College students, faculty and staff participated in our first climate survey. The data collected establishes a baseline understanding of the present climate, helps inform current and future decisions about supporting a diverse, inclusive, and vibrant campus community, and serves as a benchmark against which to measure change over time.
Methodology for surveying students and for surveying employees can be found within the report.
