Register today - MSU Detroit Executive Forum - October 5, 2017, 6-8:30 p.m., the Henry Ford Museum, Dearborn, MI. Speaker: Jim Hackett, president and CEO, Ford Motor Company. Michigan State University - Broad College of Business and College of Engineering.
Registration Opens for Detroit Executive Forum

Registration has opened for the 2017 MSU Detroit Executive Forum, to be held Thursday, October 5, 6–8:30 p.m. at the Henry Ford Museum in Dearborn. Jim Hackett, president and CEO of the Ford Motor Company, will be the featured speaker. Registration is $70 per person and includes appetizers, two drink tickets, and entrance to the museum, which will remain open for event guests to explore. The forum is an annual event presented by the Broad College and the MSU College of Engineering. Throughout its 52-year history in Southeast Michigan, the program has hosted CEOs and senior executives of many Fortune 100 companies, as well as influential business leaders from the region. Attendance is open to all Spartans, their clients, and their colleagues.

Tailgate Season Kicks Off September 2

If you are attending this fall’s MSU home football games, join us at the Broad College’s tailgates, held two hours before each home game:

Look for the Broad College tent, flutter flags, and the giant inflatable Sparty figure along Red Cedar Road, near the southeast corner of the stadium. There is no charge to attend; however, pre-registration is appreciated and donations will be accepted to offset costs.

Join EMBAaa for Annual Golf Outing

Alumni from the Executive MBA, Advanced Management Program, and Weekend MBA are invited to an afternoon of golf followed by networking and dinner. Join us Monday, September 18, at Wabeek Country Club in Bloomfield Hills. Registration begins at 11:30 a.m., with a shotgun start at 1 p.m. and networking and a filet dinner to follow at 5:30 p.m. Sponsorships and networking-only options are available. Register today!

EY Gives $1M to Create “Analytics Collaboratory”

A $1 million gift from Ernst & Young (EY) will create a virtual-learning platform for students focusing on advanced business analytics: the EY Analytics Collaboratory. MSU students will be able to take courses from the collaboratory to complement those offered in Broad’s master’s in business analytics program or to receive a separate certification.

Meet the Spartans: August 23

The 15th annual Meet the Spartans event for football fans of all ages will be held 5–8 p.m., Wednesday, August 23, in Spartan Stadium. The behind-the-scenes experience includes the opportunity to get an autograph from Coach Dantonio or members of the 2017 football team.

Student Microfinance Group Touches the Globe

Launched in 2009, Spartan Global Development Fund enlists financial sponsors and facilitates microfinance loans to aspiring entrepreneurs in the developing world. These entrepreneurs range from artisans to free-trade coffee farmers, primarily located in Latin American communities.
