  • Biography
    Sherri Henry serves as the Director of the Residential Business Community. She has rich and varied work experience in higher education. She has been a full-time employee of Michigan State University since 1995. She has over 25 years of experience as an educational administrator providing academic and professional support services to students in higher education.

    Sherri has a diverse technical and educational background. She has demonstrated leadership ability with experience in administration, academic and career advising, teaching, and in technical planning and implementation.  She is an enthusiastic team player committed to higher education. 

    She has presented at national, regional, and state conferences and is considered an expert in local, regional, and national First-Year Experience, Second-Year Experience, and academic advising forums.

    She developed, implemented and coordinated the holistic review for undergraduate admission to The School of Hospitality Business (2001-2008) and developed, implemented and directed the holistic review for undergraduate admission to the Broad College (2008-2016).

    In her role as Director, she provides leadership to the Residential Business Community team and motivates our staff and students through innovative learning opportunities.

    Sherri was honored to be recognized and awarded the Outstanding Faculty Award twice by The School of Hospitality Business for her exemplary teaching and academic service. Sherri previously coordinated all sections of BUS 101 Freshmen Seminar for Business, at Michigan State University. She teaches two sections of Business 291 Introduction to Business, and all sections of BUS 201 Business Sophomore Seminar, in the Broad College. During Olympic years, Sherri is the instructional leader for the "Business of the Olympics" study abroad program. She facilitates the instruction for the Introduction to International Business and the Introduction to International Marketing courses associated with this study abroad program.


    She earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology (with emphasis in Mathematics) and a Master of Arts degree in College and University Administration at Michigan State University. 

    She is truly an advocate for students. Sherri was honored to receive the 2015 MSU Presidential/Provost - Faculty and Academic Staff - Outstanding Contributions at Michigan State University Award in recognition of her service at Michigan State University. Sherri was truly proud to be selected for recognition by the Broad College graduating class of 2018 and awarded the 2018 Appreciation Award.
