Greg Lehmkuhl headshotGreg Lehmkuhl (B.A. Materials and Logistics Management — Purchasing and Operations Management ’95) has been named a Crain’s Newsmaker for 2024. Lehmkuhl and his fellow honorees were selected by Crain’s Detroit Business journalists for their large impact, vision and commitment to metro Detroit and for their influence on moving the region and the state Michigan forward during the past year.

The list of 2024 honorees includes Bill Ford, executive chair of Ford Motor Company; Mike Duggan, mayor of Detroit; Santa Ono, president of the University of Michigan; Mary Barra, chair and CEO of General Motors; and other incredible leaders and innovators in southeast Michigan.

Lehmkuhl currently serves as chief executive officer of Lineage, a temperature-controlled warehousing and logistics company focused on reimagining the global food supply chain by fighting food insecurity and food waste.

Under Lehmkuhl’s leadership, Lineage has executed a highly successful acquisition strategy, moving the cold-storage market from fragmented, locally owned operations to more than 3 billion cubic feet of warehousing across 480 buildings. Lineage now controls nearly 30% of the U.S. market for cold-storage warehousing and employs nearly 30,000 people. Revenue at the company has grown to nearly $6 billion in 2024, from $1.4 billion in 2020.

In addition, Lineage went public in July, launching an initial public offering that raised $5.1 billion — the largest IPO of a real estate investment trust in U.S. history.

Lehmkuhl maintains an active platform on LinkedIn, sharing thoughtful and employee-centered content about market updates, important company news and employee highlights. Most recently, he shared his 2024 Lehmkuhl Top Ten, a tradition of sharing and reflecting on the year of progress at Lineage.

Congratulations to Greg Lehmkuhl and all of the 2024 Crain’s Newsmakers for 2024!
