Biography
Kyle joined the MSU Accounting PhD program in 2024 after 11 years in public accounting. In public accounting, he spent 2 years in the audit practice before joining the forensic accounting team, where he was a senior manager helping clients across all industries navigate fraud through investigations and prevention, including control reviews and educational workshops. Now, he plans to leverage that practical experience into research.
He is a licensed CPA in the states of Ohio and Michigan, a Certified Fraud Examiner, and a member of the AICPA, MICPA, and ACFE. He earned his B.A. in accounting from Hope College. He has a passion for data analytics; in the Financial Modeling World Cup’s 2023 Excel World Championships, he placed 10th in the qualifying round and advanced to the Top 64 round before elimination.
On a day off, you’ll catch him going big or going home. If not spending time at home with his wife and two large, energetic Labradoodles, he's probably exploring a new city overseas, skiing Mt. Bachelor in Oregon, swimming in northern Michigan, or visiting friends and family throughout the country.
