The Broad College of Business Graduate Supply Chain Management Association (GSCMA) celebrates Pi Day (3/14, after the mathematical constant) with a fundraiser donating all proceeds to local charity Small Talk.
Small Talk’s mission is to provide therapy at no cost to children who are victims of physical and sexual abuse. This is the second year that the Graduate Supply Chain Management Association will be fundraising for Small Talk. This year, the goal is to top last year’s donation.
“It’s important for our club and the Broad College to be active in our community,” said Aaron London (MBA ’18), president of GSCMA.
The fundraiser partners with Grand Traverse Pie Company, which provides the fundraiser’s pie. Monday, March 13, through Friday, March 16, students will be stationed in front of N100 BCC from noon to 3 p.m., accepting $3 donations for a single slice of pie and $5 donations for two slices of pie.
“On behalf of my colleagues in the MBA program, we are honored to have the opportunity to partner with Grand Traverse Pie again to raise money for Small Talk Children’s Advocacy Center and the worthy cause that they represent. We intend to build upon the success of last year’s Pi Day event to benefit our community while proudly representing our fellow Broad MBAs,” said Nitin Balakrishnan, vice president of community outreach for GSCMA.
