For the third year in a row, Financial Times released the “FT 401” list of top financial advisors, and two Broad College of Business alumni made the cut.
The FT 401 recognizes leading financial retirement advisors with more than 10 years of experience and upwards of $300 million in assets under management. “We present the FT 400 as an elite group, not a competitive ranking,” said Financial Times.
This is the third year Hammond has earned a spot on FT401.
Kimberly Hammond and Brett Howell were among the nine advisors from Michigan on FT 401, both working for Merrill Lynch Wealth Management.
Howell joined Merrill Lynch in 2000 and is a founding partner of the Howell & Sharp Group.
Hammond, who has earned a spot on FT 401 for three years, earned a degree from the Broad College in 1986. She is currently senior resident director – wealth management advisor and has been with Merrill Lynch since 1989. Hammond has helped clients integrate their corporate benefits into a long-term financial strategy that focuses on risk management.
Howell graduated from Broad with a degree in marketing in 1996. He joined Merrill Lynch in 2000 and is a founding partner of the Howell & Sharp Group. With more than 20 years of financial planning experience, Howell’s expertise relates to retirement planning for individuals, corporations, and nonprofit organizations.
To make the FT 401, six factors are taken into account to create a numeric score for each advisor: assets under management, AUM growth rate, years of experience, compliance record, industry certifications (CFA, CPA, etc.), and accessibility.
