Glenn Omura has been appointed acting associate dean for MBA and professional master’s programs at Michigan State University’s Eli Broad College of Business. He replaces Sanjay Gupta, who was recently named acting dean of the college.
Omura, an associate professor of marketing, founded the Broad v. Broad Internal Case Competition, the Broad Warrior Academic Awards, and the Marketing Boot Camp during his time at the college. He co-directs the Broad Integrative Fellows Program and serves as a member of the college’s Integrative Teaching and Learning Team. Twice, Omura has received the Outstanding MBA Professor Award, as voted by MBA students.
His extensive institutional service includes serving on the Presidential Task Force on Economic Development, the Graduate Advisory Council, the Master’s Program Committee, and the Core MBA Faculty Committee.
Omura’s research and consulting focus is creating and growing markets, particularly those driven by emerging technologies. As an expert in this field, Omura serves on the editorial review boards for the Journal of Developmental Entrepreneurship and the AMA Marketing Education Quarterly and as director of the Global Entrepreneurship and Marketing Research Interface for the American Marketing Association.
Omura received his doctorate from Ohio State University and his bachelor’s degree from Michigan State.
