Biography
Dr. Lillian R. Brooks is an Academic
Specialist-Advisor for Undergraduate Student Services in the Eli Broad College
of Business and the advisor for the Entrepreneurship & Innovation
minor. Lillian earned a PhD in Higher Education Administration from Michigan
State University. Her research involved studies on student transition to
college and institutional practices that facilitate academic success. Prior to her
position in Broad College of Business, Lillian held administrative positions at
Western Michigan University as assistant director of regional locations, at Lansing Community College as team leader for C3R, and at Michigan State University's College of Education where she managed the Summer Scholars Program.
Lillian served as president of the
Central Florida Chapter of the National Black MBA Association, marketing specialist
for the Central Florida African American Chamber of Commerce, and as diversity
consultant for the Downtown Orlando Marketing
Association. She was a guest service manager
at the Walt Disney World Co. where she completed the Management Core Program
and Diversity and Inclusion training at Disney University. During her tenure at WDW, Lillian earned
several awards for successful location management, employee recruitment, was nominated for Partners in Excellence, and served as a mentor for the College Program.
Lillian also earned an MBA from University of Detroit Mercy and a BS in marketing
and international management from Georgetown University. Other interests
include Truth, Racial Healing, and Transformation (TRHT) racial healing circle facilitation, book clubs, traveling, movies, theatre, and swimming.
