  • Biography
    Kristen Hintz is the Undergraduate Career Coach Lead and an Associate Director in the Russell Palmer Career Management Center in the Broad College of Business at Michigan State University. Most recently she was an Associate Director primarily serving as an advanced career consultant with Executive MBA students at the East Lansing, Troy, and Detroit campuses, joint JD/MBA students, and students from other graduate business Master of Science programs like Business Analytics, Accounting, Marketing Research, Finance, and Supply Chain Management. Kristen has extensive experience and understanding of career management strategies, having worked with students and alums from a wide range of experience, function and interest levels.

    Kristen is instrumental in helping students formulate effective job search strategies that match their career interests and aspirations. She facilitates students in mastering their interviewing and networking skills, and developing effective cover letters, resumes, LinkedIn profiles, and verbal pitches, primarily through designing and presenting workshops and teaching. Kristen is the lead administrator and section instructor for BUS 102 in the spring semester for first-year students in the Residential Business Community. Kristen was the administrator and primary instructor for MBA 843, a career course for over 75 full-time MBA students. Kristen also is the lead administrator and instroctor for BUS 491 (soon to be BUS 100), a career seminar for recently admitted Broad undergraduate students.

    Kristen also occasionally collaborates with employers, monitors recruitment trends and seeks opportunities to market business candidates. Kristen is knowledgeable about visa regulations, work authorization and immigration issues, given her experiences with international students. Kristen also has a few years of experience co-managing the former Consulting Initiative and now Consulting Academy @ MSU, which is designed to seek out undergraduate students and train them for careers in management consulting.

    Kristen was associated with what was formerly known as the MBA Career Services Center for over 10 years and prior to re-joining the Broad Graduate Career Management Center, she was in the career services office at MSU College of Law for a little over 5 years. Kristen received her Bachelor's Degree in Sociology and Psychology from Hope College and Master's Degree in College Student Personnel from Bowling Green State University.
