Susan Langeland
The Grand Rapids Business Journal is honoring Broad College of Business Executive MBA student Milinda Ysasi (EMBA ’19) and alumnae Susan Langeland (EMBA ’05) and Angela Nelson (EMBA ’14) among “The 50 Most Influential Women in West Michigan” in 2018.
The GRBJ list recognizes the region’s most influential women business owners, leaders, policy-shapers and decision makers.
Ysasi is the executive director at The Source, an employer-led nonprofit that works to support entry-level workers through barriers including housing, transportation, childcare, and financial instability. Ysasi’s role is focused on leading the overall strategy for the organization. This role encompasses sales and business development as well as marketing and communications leadership.

“This award is an honor, I know many of the women on the list and feel so special to be recognized with all of them. Grand Rapids is an amazing community filled with such support,” stated Ysasi.
Langeland is the corporate director of hospital-based services at Pine Rest Christian Mental Health Services. At Pine Rest, Langeland is responsible for the oversight of 226 acute psychiatric inpatient beds and 100 partial hospital chairs. Results oriented, Langeland is a leader in the behavioral health field with a track record of successful program and division turnaround.
Angela Nelson
Nelson is the VP of multicultural business development at Experience Grand Rapids. She is skilled in leading nonprofit organizations, analytics, event management, team building, and fundraising.
“The feel is surreal. I was and still am somewhat shocked to learn that out of hundreds of nominations received that I am considered among the 50 Most Influential Women in West Michigan. I stand on the shoulders of so many extraordinary women that have made significant contributions to this community. I am humbled and pledge to continue to do my part as well as pull others along, especially women of color,” said Nelson.
