Georgia Chao, associate professor of management, has earned the Society of Industrial and Organizational Psychology’s William A. Owens Scholarly Achievement Award for best publication in 2013.
She is being recognized for an article titled, “Advancing multilevel research design: Capturing the dynamics of emergence,” in Organizational Research Methods (ORM).
Chao joined MSU in 1985 after serving as Section Head of the Department of Management at the GMI Engineering & Management Institute. She received her MS and PhD in Industrial and Organizational Psychology from Pennsylvania State University.
She was elected to the American Psychological Association (APA) Council and currently serves on the editorial boards of the Journal of Applied Psychology, the International Journal of Selection and Assessment, and Human Resource Management Review. She is a member of the Academy of Management, APA, and the Society for Industrial and Organizational Psychology. In 1995 she received the Outstanding Publication in Organizational Behavior award presented by the Academy of Management’s OB Division.
She will be presented the William A. Owens Scholarly Achievement Award at the SIOP conference in Philadelphia in April. Chao’s paper, “Advancing multilevel research design: Capturing the dynamics of emergence,” also earned the Sage Best Paper Award published in ORM in 2013.
