Blake Runnalls, a fifth-year doctoral student within the department of marketing at the Eli Broad Graduate School of Management at Michigan State University has earned two outstanding recognitions for his research and dissertation.
Every year the American Marketing Association holds a competition to recognize the most promising dissertation proposal in the sales field. This year Blake was chosen for the 2017 American Marketing Association’s Sales SIG Doctoral Proposal Competition for his submission, “The Impact of Social Networks on Sales Training Transfer and Performance.”
Partaking in another competition, Blake took home one of just three awards for the Young Scholar Research Competition for the 2017 Organizational Frontlines Research Symposium for ad relate research initiative. Assistant Professors and Ph.D. students were invited from across the globe to submit research projects studying relationships and interactions between organizations and their customers.
Blake’s research focuses on personal selling and sales management, the customer-firm interface and organizational learning and knowledge management. He is currently working with a multi-billion-dollar business-to-business firm investigating their sales training programs.
Aside from research, Blake teaches pricing courses at the MBA-level, quantitative business research methods, and marketing strategy in the Eli Broad Business College. He also is involved with the Minor in Sales Leadership and has taught their personal selling and sales management courses.
Throughout his five-year candidacy Blake has won numerous other awards for his research and dissertation including; the 2017 Broad College Doctoral Competition Award, the 2015 AMA Sheth Consortium Fellow and 2015 Sales Education Foundation (SEF)/Neil Rackham Research Grant.
