Three student startup teams from Michigan State University participated last week in the 2019 Consumer Electronics Show, or CES, where they showcased their innovative projects and startup ventures.

Taking place in Las Vegas, CES is a convention that hosts more than 4,500 companies, allowing them to announce and showcase their latest technologies. The high definition television,  Microsoft Xbox, Android device and Satellite Radio represent some of the products announced at past shows.

This year, CES featured companies such as Amazon, Bosch, Procter and Gamble, Fitbit Inc., Facebook and more.

The MSU startup teams include:

  • Bailey Paxton

    AgileCare Solutions: In a world shifting from post-acute to chronic care, AgileCare Solutions works to build a suite of software solutions to help inform family caregivers on options and resources for their ailing loved ones. Bailey Paxton, senior in finance at the Eli Broad College of Business and member of the Honors College, is the company’s founder and CEO and Brian Cooper, senior in media and information, is the chief technology officer.

  • Vloggle: Vloggle, advertised as “video at your fingertips,” allows users to shoot, edit, share and stream content in real-time. Users can create videos or vlogs and share them across platforms instantly. Michael Jajou, junior in computer science, is the company’s CEO and Christian Marougi, junior in accounting, is the chief operating officer.
  • Social Movement Media: The company offers a breadth of social marking services to its clients, which include Chevrolet and Hard Rock Café. James Shockley, senior in advertising management, is the company’s founder and CEO and Andrew Farah, senior in advertising management, is the director of sales.

All three founders received support through Conquer Accelerator, a program at MSU that provides selected startup teams with funding and a 10-week program that focuses on completing benchmarks.

In other MSU entrepreneurship and innovation news, MSU graduates and co-founders of Every Two Minutes, Erin Rose and Kayla Schindler, will take their company to Austin, Texas in March to attend the 2019 SXSW Pitch conference.

Graduates of the Conquer Accelerator‘s 2018 cohort, the company’s product, mySideKick, is part of 50 interactive technology companies from 10 different categories. The companies will pitch to a live audience and participate in a Q&A with SXSW panel of judges.
