Without question, this year has been defined by moments that showcase our individual strength, collective power and extraordinary impact as Spartans.

The Broad College of Business 2020 Annual Report, “Together,” highlights our achievements and demonstrates how we are transforming the future of business, together.

This word together perfectly captures how Broad faculty, staff, alumni, students and friends employed the unwavering Spartan spirit through a truly unique academic year.

This past fall, we gathered as a community to celebrate our milestones and achievements, together. We opened the state-of-the-art Edward J. Minskoff Pavilion, the new home for business at MSU, devoted exclusively to teaching and learning, enhancing collaboration and teamwork and supporting our students. As a college, we hosted numerous events to bring our stakeholders and peers together, furthering our mission, strengthening our Broad College brand and becoming a top-of-mind business school.

Amid the COVID-19 pandemic, Broad Spartans showed extraordinary resilience as they advanced through challenges, together. Our alumni, spread around the globe, led their businesses to be a force for good. Our faculty served as thought leaders, weighing in on the country’s emerging concerns and offering insights to help all of us better understand and grapple with new realities.

At the same time, Broad staff played a key role in driving MSU’s seismic pivot online, ensuring that teaching and learning could continue to happen safely and effectively. As Spartans enter a new academic year, our role as a leader in developing inclusive online programs carries on.

Our work is not done as U.S. higher education is being tested like never before. While we may not know exactly what the future of higher education will look like, our strategic themes and initiatives will relentlessly guide our work going forward. Our momentum will not falter as we strive to transform lives through undergraduate education, enhance careers and lifelong learning through graduate programs, strengthen impactful research and scholarship, enhance outreach and engagement with key communities and foster a diverse and inclusive culture of collaboration.

Through these experiences and more, we continue to grow stronger as a community to make progress for a better tomorrow. Together, Spartans Will make business happen.
