The Spartan Global Development Fund (SGDF) has just been named the winner of the 2017 Lewis Quality of Excellence Award by the Alumni Board of Directors of the Eli Broad College of Business! The Lewis Award is an annual recognition of the best quality improvement or innovation projects in the Broad College. The awards are made each year to the top projects as ranked by members of a board evaluation committee. Nominations are evaluated on the basis of seven characteristics: innovation, teamwork, benefit to the college, impact on the college, performance metrics, and sustainability.
The SGDF is a student-led organization that helps provide much needed funding to small businesses in less-developed areas of the world. For faculty advisor Paulette Stenzel, this marks the fourth time she has won the Lewis Award.
