  • Biography
    Wayne Hutchison comes to this position from his work as Director of Admissions, MSU College of Law, where he was responsible for student outreach initiatives, pre-law resource development, an 80-member student ambassador program, and web-based learning seminars to a national audience. He has over fifteen years of experience in strategic leadership, program development, administration, academic advising, recruiting and admissions roles. Prior to his work in higher education, Wayne was an Air Force officer for eleven years, earning the rank of major. Wayne has extensive teaching experience both at the professional and undergraduate levels, and has leveraged that experience to develop high-quality learning experiences inside and outside the classroom. Wayne's passion for enhancing the academic, professional and personal experiences of students in higher education has brought him to this position.

    Wayne has a lengthy history at Michigan State University, beginning as an undergraduate student in the College of Social Sciences where he received his Bachelor's Degree in Political Science/Pre- Law in 1997. He earned his MBA and MPA from City University of Seattle in 2003. He entered the MSU doctoral program in higher, adult and lifelong education in 2013. 

    Wayne enjoys spending time with his family, athletics, travel, cultural events, film, and community service work. He and his family are proud Spartans and can be found at a diverse array of activities that support and celebrate Michigan State University.
