  • Biography
    Susan Convery is an Emeritus fixed-term faculty member who continues to teach the government and not-for-profit accounting course.  She previously taught intermediate financial accounting and principles of management accounting courses.  She is also an Emeritus Professor from Eastern Michigan University where she was department head for six years. Professor Convery earned her PhD (1990) and BA (1973) from Michigan State University and her MS in Accounting (1979) from EMU. She is a CPA (Michigan, 1981, registered) and Certified Management Accountant (CMA, 2009). She has served as the American Accounting Association (AAA) representative to the Governmental Accounting Standards Advisory Council, President of the AAA's Government and Nonprofit Section, Chair of the Nonprofit Committee and Board member of the Michigan Association of CPAs. She is the author of Governmental and Not-for-Profit Accounting and Auditing: An Active-Learning Workbook by Cambridge Business Publishers, Gatsby Manufacturing, Inc,: A Managerial Accounting Project, and Using Excel for Business Decisions both by Armond Dalton Publishers. Professor Convery has presented at professional accounting conferences and published on the topics of government and not-for-profit accounting (some under her former name Kattelus).
